festivalplaza.jpg

This is a guide on all aspects of Festival Plaza. I will explain each function and feature in detail.

To get to festival plaza, open your menu by pressing the X button and select Festival Plaza.

sunmenu.png

Once you're in Festival Plaza you will see a bunch of buttons big and small on your bottom screen:

festivalplaza3.jpg

I'll explain each button in detail:

battlemenu.gif

battle_button.jpg This brings you to the Battle Menu which has three options:

battle_menu.jpg

  • 1) "Link Battle" brings you to a menu where you can choose to battle people in your Festival Plaza.
  • This includes Guests, VIPs and Friends that are online. Selecting Link Battle connects you to
  • the internet and gives you a list of all the connected people you can challenge to a battle.
  • 2) "Battle Spot" brings you to a menu that has the options "Free Battle", "Rating Battle", "Online Compettion"
  • and "Friendly Competition". The Battle Spot is the place where you can enjoy Link Battles with people
  • from all over the world! You can also enter various competitions for which you've registered at the
  • Pokémon Global Link website.
  • 3) "Download Rules" lists battle type rules that are updated and provided by The Pokémon Company™.
  • You can add new rulesets to your game that will be saved on your SD card.

trademenu.gif

tradebutton.jpg The trade button brings you to a menu where you can use the GTS, Wonder Trade, and Link Trade.

trademenu.jpg

  • Selecting any one of the 3 Options will connect you to your Wifi and Game Sync
  • with Pokémon Global Link.

  • 1) "Link Trade" - This allows you to trade Pokémon with other players that are connected to the
  • internet whether they be Guests, VIP members, or on your 3DS Friend List. You can communicate
  • with the person your trading with using a select few predetermined messages.
  • 2) "GTS" or "Global Trade Station" is like an auction house for Pokémon. You have 1 Slot to deposit
  • Pokémon in and can also browse what has been deposited by other trainers. Here is what the
  • deposit menu looks like.

deposit.jpg

  • 2.1) After you select Deposit Pokémon on the GTS menu you select the Pokémon you want to trade
  • have the following options: Pokémon Wanted (Pretty self-explanatory, what you want for
  • your Pokémon. Select "Pokémon Wanted" and pick from an alphabetical list of Pokémon
  • that you want in the trade.) Select Male or Female for Gender. Not applicable to certain
  • monogender and genderless Pokémon. For Level you can pick a Level range of 1-10, 11-20
  • 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 71-80, 81-90 and 91 to 100. The last option lets you pick
  • a pre-determined message about the Pokémon you're trading.

2.2) If you select "Seek Pokémon" you will see the following menu:

seekpokemon.jpg

  • Much like the Deposit menu you select the Pokémon Wanted, Gender of Pokémon, and the
  • level range of the Pokémon you're searching for. Once you select "Search with these
  • conditions you will see something similar to the following:

seekpokemon2.jpg

  • On the bottom screen is a list of Trainers who deposited the Pokémon you search for, in this
  • case Abra. On the top screen you see the Pokéball the Pokémon is in, any items it is holding,
  • what Pokémon they want in trade for it, what gender of Pokémon they want, and what level
  • range they want the Pokémon to be in.

  • 3) Wonder Trade - Wonder trades allow you to trade a Pokémon from your bank to a random
  • trainer for a random Pokémon of their choosing. It's completely random who you get
  • matched up with and what Pokémon you get. You will sit in the queue for a total of 90
  • seconds tops. If the server doesn't find a match for you in 90 seconds you will time out and
  • have to try again. Once you find a match you'll see a screen like this on your bottom screen:

wondertrade1.jpg

  • After you find a match the trade will happen and you'll see your Pokémons being exchanged:

wondertrade2.png

  • IMPORTANT FACT ABOUT LINK TRADES, GTS & WONDER TRADES:
  • For every trade you do, whether it be Link Trade, GTS or Wonder Trade, the person
  • you traded with will appear inside the Festival Plaza Castle in front of the table where
  • the red arrow is pointing in the below image:

insidecastle.jpg

  • If you go inside the Castle and talk to them right after the trade, you will receive some FC.
  • FC stands for Festival Coins and can be used for a variety of things like buying items from
  • the facilities you can add to Festival Plaza or using FC to buy facilities from other players.

visitorbutton.gif

  • visitorsbutton.jpg - This is the "Visitors Button" once selected you can see a full list of Guests, VIPs, and
  • people you've exchanged Friend Codes with. You can use the L and R buttons to flip between
  • Guests, VIP members and Friends. If you are offline you will get a list of saved Guests/VIP
  • members/Friends but will not be able to interact with them. When you are connected through
  • your Wifi connection your list will be populated with trainers that are also online.

guestlist_1.jpg

plazaprofile.gif

  • festival_status.jpg This is the "Festival Plaza Profile" - here you can find stats on your Festival Plaza, and
  • select from a ton of predetermined messages to say to other trainers when they talk to you if
  • you visit their Festival Plaza. This menu has stats for Festival Plaza Rank, FC Collected,
  • FC to the Next Rank, Current FC, Guested Interacted With, Facilities Hosted, and Missions you
  • have participated in. On the bottom screen is your profile messages which you can edit at any time.

festival_status2.jpg

ob.gif

  • pokemon_menu.jpg - This button brings you to your "Pokémon Team" - you can view your team, organize them, and so on and so forth.
  • itemsbutton.jpg - This button brings you to your "Items Backpack" where you can view and organize your items within Festival Plaza
  • wifibutton.jpg - This button is the "Wifi Button" and lets you connect and disconnect from the internet at any time while in Festival Plaza.

rankingup.gif

rankupbonuses.gif

Any thoughts into what the best facilities are in your Plaza? I always seem to go for the Rare Kitchen, 1 dye shop, maybe 1 Fortune Teller and as many high ranking Lottery shops I can get.

I'd love to hear what others consider to be essential.

I run 6 x 5-star Fortune Teller Tents to try and get "a ton of luck" in Festival Plaza, Wonder Trade & GTS that way I get 96 FC per WT and 192 FC for GTS trades.

The other facility I run is Treasure Hunt and Gold Rush that I alternate switching between to farm bottle caps and money.

I wrote a guide on how to farm those it's in these forums here somewhere.

I don't have Kanto or Kalos just Unova.

I just moved Unova to my first slot, connecting to Wifi now.

Keep an eye out for me.

EDIT: I moved the facility to the first slot and I am connected to the internet. Let me know once you got the facility.

Competitive players pretty much need 2 rare kitchens for the level 100 trick, as for the rest any type of lottery works, I use them to farm bottle caps and pp-ups.
