    The reason Latin is a dead language is because almost no-one speaks it and nobody knows the correct pronunciation of the words. That's why it's still written. It also lacks modern vocabulary so everything invented from like 1850 onwards

    As my native language I can speak Dutch fluently, and as part of my family is English I have learnt it from when I was 1-2 years old. I've also recently gotten my FCE and CAE certificates which means I am at a C2 level which is the highest level of English achievable without going to college for it afaik. I also speak a bit of Papiamento (as it's basically slang here) and because of my school I know a bit of German. I'm pretty decent at reading and writing French. And I know a couple Russian words and simple sentences. I would although really like to expand my knowledge of German and Russian.
