Xbox One Controller Bumper Button Fix.
What You Will Need.
To fix your Xbox One controller’s bumper buttons, you will need the following:
-A small Phillips head screwdriver
-A can of compressed air
1) Use the Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws on the back of the controller.
2) Gently pull back on the plastic casing until it comes off.
3) Locate the bumper button mechanisms on each side of the controller. There should be a small white tab sticking up from each one.
4) Use the cotton swab to apply a small amount of pressure to the white tab, and then use the can of compressed air to blow away any dust or debris that may be preventing the button from working properly.
5) Replace the back casing and screw it into place.
To prevent your bumper buttons from becoming damaged, it is important to use protection. There are a few different ways that you can do this:
One way is to purchase a silicone or rubber case for your controller. This will provide a layer of protection between your buttons and anything else that could potentially damage them.
Another way to protect your bumper buttons is to avoid dropping your controller. While it may seem obvious, this is actually one of the most common ways that people end up damaging their controllers. If you are not careful, you could easily drop your controller and damage the bumper buttons.
Be Careful When Cleaning
It is also important to be careful when cleaning your controller. If you use harsh chemicals or scrub too hard, you could easily damage the plastic on your bumper buttons. Instead, use a soft cloth and a mild cleaner to gently wipe down your controller.
If your Xbox One controllers bumper buttons have become loose or unresponsive, there is a quick fix that you can do at home. All you need is a small Phillips head screwdriver and a few minutes of time.
To fix your controller, simply remove the two screws on the back of the controller near the shoulder buttons. Next, pull off the back plate of the controller to expose the battery compartment. Inside, you will see two more screws holding down the circuit board. Remove these screws and carefully lift up the circuit board.
There are four black plastic tabs on the underside of the circuit board. These tabs connect to the shoulder button assemblies. Gently push down on each tab until it pops out of its slot. You may need to use a small flathead screwdriver to help with this step. Once all four tabs are disengaged, you can remove the circuit board and set it aside.
Now take a look at the shoulder button assemblies. There are two white plastic pieces that fit into slots on either side of each assembly. These pieces are what hold down the circuit board when everything is put back together. Make sure that these pieces are still in their respective slots before proceeding to the next step.
Next, locate the small metal springs on each shoulder button assembly. These springs provide tension for the buttons and help them return to their original position after being pressed down. Over time, these springs can become worn out or damaged, causing
